    Very good

Remember it is a pub with rooms. The staff are realy great, and the pub with real ale is good.

On outskirts of town,Room cramped but ok Breakfast nice but service slow. Steaks at good price but chef didnt know/do rare or well done they were all same.

    Nothing!!!

When booking with book.com I asked for a ground floor room as my wife is disabled. When we arrived at the Lambton Hounds this message had not been passed on to them. As it is a Pub with accomadation above, there was no ground floor rooms. My wife had to strugle with the stairs, and this made her poorly for our stay which was only the one night, for our grandson's 21st birthday party, thus to sat this was spoilt for my wife as she was in a lot of pain because of having to strugle with the stairs.

    Room was clean, friendly staff.

There was no lounge area apart from the public bar or lounge, which was popular with the locals. No problem with the locals but we prefer a quieter space to spend an evening.

    Very good

this hotel was very welcoming , the food was excellent and the proximity to the park and ride was a bonus

maybe a little decoration to the bedroom

    Good

The bar and restaurant are very 'quaint', old and interesting! Whilst menu is simple the food was very good at dinner, good value for money. Traditional breakfast was not enormous but tasty and not greasy. Room was in an annex and simple, not quite as expected but clean.

    Fabulous

Very friendly and welcoming. Excellent value and well placed for a visit to the city of Durham. Restaurant with simple menu of locally sourced/home made food was a bonus

In a less salubrious area, room was in an annex, that had a distinctly run down feel and didnt resemble the description/pictures and had a strong smell of cooking. Our room was noisy overlooking a busy road. It was a fair drive to town hence necessitated eating in the pub restautant, food was OK, freezer via deep fat fryer to plate. Breakfast was adequate. Car parking available however their CCTV cameras point skywards so no comfort there.

Being left alone, and not being fussed over.

General condition, out of date, faded and very basic facilities.

    Good

    Breakfast

I called ahead twice to tell them my trainw as delayed and I would be an hour late arriving but still would like supper, which I had pre-booked but when I arrived they said the restaurant was closed..........

The food was very tasty and reasonable.

The bedrooms in the annexe are clean but badley in need of re decoration. I did not like having to share a hair dryer. The shower control was far to high up the wall had to get my husband to turn it on. We got it at a reduced price I would not have been satisfied had I paid the original price.

    Good

The Bar and Restaurant - food & drink was good and well priced. Specials were especially good value. This pub is very popular and busy.

Our bedroom was immediately over the Bar - no problem on the Saturday night, we were in the Bar as well, but Sunday night it was very noisy below until 11pm; we had to be up early on Monday morning. However, we do accept that this is always a possibility when staying at a pub.

    Fabulous

The Lambton Hounds is a friendly local pub and restaurant. I was made very welcome in the bar, which has a good choice of real ale. Mine was an overnight trip, and I'll be staying there again.

    The location was pretty good.

The lady was fairly rude in receiving us, as we didn't arrive until about midnight - having had to drive 4.5 hours up from London. This was uncalled for, as we'd already warned them about this several times throughout the day. Their bar shuts at 11pm, so if you can't arrive until after that then my advice is to stay in a different hotel.

I was out late on the saturday night returning at 01.30 on the sunday morning. Despite having a key for the outside door I had to wake another guest up as the door had been bolted for the night. I thought the idea of having an external key was so you can come and go 24 hours a day without having to disturb other guests.
